As the Clarinet Mentors Community expands, so do the many tasks required to continue providing great clarinet resources for everyone to share. I would like to create a team of people who enjoy the clarinet (either as performers, or fans) and can offer other skills up to help me get everything done more easily. If you are interested in joining my team, please send me a note with your interest, your related experience and skill sets. Email Assistant - I now receive several hundred emails a month, and I am behind in answering them. I still intend to be an active part of my email communication, but I need help. Many of the emails that I receive are related to common themes, and I have crafted responses and templates that could be sent to people by an assistant working on my behalf. I would love to have the email sorted so that some could be handled immediately, and the ones that I need to give personal attention to could be brought to my attention. (If I am not prompt with responding to someone, I could probably use gentle reminders as well.) If you are organized, with good written skills, and like helping things to run smoothly, I could use your help. My guess is that this would involve about 3 hours a week, but it would be great if you were available to check email almost daily. This would suit someone who currently uses their computer on a regular basis.
Music transcriber - I am preparing several musical exercises, and worksheets, which will need to be put into music notation software. I am currently using Sibelius. If you are proficient at using this software, and have an interest in helping me to prepare the music for my new course and upcoming videos, I would love your help. I believe that the new program, Sibelius First, would be compatible with my own Sibelius 7 software. If you are interested in helping with this, please let me know what software you use. I imagine that I would be emailing copies of handwritten music for transcription. In some cases this would be taking public domain music, and putting it into a key that is better for the clarinet.
Webinar producer - No experience necessary - I have the technology to easily lead live online, interactive webinars. A computer savvy assistant with high-speed internet access is needed to manage questions and handle behind the scenes administrative tasks during live online events. I use a software program that uses Google hangouts to produce live events. As producer, you would be in charge of bringing new participants into the webinar as I request them, as well as answering any written questions that come into the chat box during a webinar. The skills required for this are quick thinking, a very good computer, excellent communication skills, and high speed Internet connection.
